The Warehouse project offered the premier interior fire attack training at the Texas A&M summer fire school. We gave it our best from the day the project was created in 1982 until the sad day it was decommissioned thirty-five years later. I was extremely proud to be the Instructor-in-Charge for eighteen of the twenty-two years I served there.

The Warehouse
- There it is. Field Project 13, the Warehouse. Spic and span and after four decades of valor, recently retired from the A&M school curriculum. It sits idle now, but you should have seen it back in the era of its glory. We fired it up six times a day. Four rooms with two fire tiers each, smoke and flames rolling from every opening. The Black Cats and our students whipped the Red Devil's ass a total of one hundred and fifty times during the five days of each of the annual July A&M Municipal Fire Training Schools. We were the undisputed Kings of interior fire attack training. During my tenure, thousands of students, young and old alike, learned how to fight fire under the watchful eyes and the excellent instructional leadership of the Black Cats. When me and the Boys are all together again on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, we'll rescue the Warehouse from its moth balls and we'll fire that ol' girl up again.....bigger and better than ever. And at the end of the day, we'll gather in the shade and drink beer while Howard tells the joke about the dog that got castrated for biting the mailman.
